About this product

Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive begins on Roshar, a world of stone scoured by enormous storms, where ancient magical weapons and armour drive a war that has lasted for generations. This Gollancz paperback is the first of two volumes that together make up The Way of Kings.

The story moves between several lives, among them a former surgeon's apprentice now enslaved, a highprince who fears he is losing his mind and a young scholar planning a theft, as clues about the lost Knights Radiant come to light.

Worldbuilding: an unusual ecology shaped by the highstorms
Magic and war: Shardblades and Shardplate prized above kingdoms
Starting point: the opening of a planned ten-book series
