A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman (Paperback)

Ove is the neighbour everyone tiptoes around: rigid, short-tempered and quick to point out anyone breaking the rules of his quiet street. Beneath that gruff surface sits a man of fixed principles and deep loyalty, and the arrival of a chaotic young family next door slowly starts to open him up.

Translated from the Swedish by Henning Koch, Fredrik Backman's debut novel is funny and moving in equal measure, and a natural choice for book clubs and readers of warm, character-driven fiction.

• A comic, tender story about grief, love and community
• Adapted for film in Sweden and later as A Man Called Otto starring Tom Hanks
• Translated from Swedish by Henning Koch
• The first novel by the author of Anxious People
