This Is for Everyone: The Unfinished Story of the World Wide Web by Tim Berners-Lee (Paperback)

This Is for Everyone is the memoir of Tim Berners-Lee, the British computer scientist who invented the World Wide Web and chose to share it freely. He explains how the web came together and how it opened the door to new kinds of creativity and collaboration.

He is just as frank about what went wrong, as a commercial race reshaped the web in ways that now strain democracy and public debate. The book closes by looking at the choices ahead as artificial intelligence develops. Technical yet personal, it suits anyone curious about the technology behind daily life.

• A first-hand account of how the World Wide Web began
• How the open web fuelled creativity and collaboration
• The effect of commercial competition on democracy and debate
• A look ahead at the questions raised by artificial intelligence
• Written by the web's inventor
