The Same Backward as Forward by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Paperback, The Inheritance Games Prequel)

Jennifer Lynn Barnes goes back before The Inheritance Games to tell how Hannah Rooney and Tobias Hawthorne II met. The book is printed as a flip book: read Hannah's account first, then turn it over and start again from Toby's point of view.

Hannah is a nursing student trying to keep clear of her notorious criminal family. After a deadly storm and a fire, she reluctantly helps save Toby, the wealthy heir who has lost his memory. Fans of the Hawthorne family will want this backstory on their shelf.

• Two perspectives: one romance, told from each side of the book
• Prequel: set before the events of The Inheritance Games
• Series companion: most rewarding for readers who already know the Hawthornes
