Killers Of The Flower Moon by David Grann

Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI is a work of narrative non-fiction by David Grann. In the 1920s, oil beneath their Oklahoma land made members of the Osage Nation some of the wealthiest people in the world per head, until, one after another, they began to be murdered, and Mollie Burkhart's family became a particular target.

As the killings mounted and investigators themselves were silenced, the newly formed FBI under a young J. Edgar Hoover took up the case. Grann reconstructs the investigation and uncovers a deeper conspiracy, offering a gripping, meticulously researched account of greed, racism and injustice in American history. It is a compelling read for lovers of true crime and history alike.
