How to Be Perfect by Mike Schur

How to Be Perfect is Michael Schur's light-hearted introduction to moral philosophy, from the creator of the television comedy The Good Place. He takes the big questions of ethics, such as what it means to act well and why it matters, and tests them against the awkward dilemmas of everyday life.

Schur walks through some 2,500 years of ethical thinking, from Aristotle's virtue ethics to Kant and the utilitarians, explaining each school in plain language and poking gentle fun at its blind spots. Questions range from the trivial to the serious, including whether we can still enjoy art made by people who behaved badly. It suits curious readers who want philosophy that is funny, practical and free of jargon.
