بيداغوجيا المكتئبين: Pedagogy of the Depressed by Christopher Schaberg (Arabic Edition)

This is the Arabic edition of Pedagogy of the Depressed by Christopher Schaberg, an American professor and writer, first published in English in 2022. Despite the title it is not a medical book: it is a set of reflections on what it means to teach in higher education at a difficult moment.

Its title answers Paulo Freire's classic Pedagogy of the Oppressed. Schaberg writes about the strains running through campus life, including student and faculty mental health, insecure academic jobs and the upheaval of the pandemic years, while asking what good teaching can still achieve.

• Essays on teaching and university life
• A response to Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed
• Looks at mental health, pandemic teaching and technology in the classroom
• For teachers, lecturers, students and readers interested in education
